The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival 2012

by

Established in 2005, The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is New York City’s largest Hip-Hop cultural event that showcases the positive aspects of Hip-Hop culture by highlighting Hip-Hop’s legacy as an agent of artistic progression, community building and social change.

In addition to musical performances, the Festival offers a number of activities for its audience, including: panel discussions, exhibitions, parties, an award show and a family-friendly block party. The Festival is more than a concert or outdoor fair. It is a family reunion for lovers of this great culture.

In the last ten years, the Festival has achieved a number of memorable milestones with an impressive roster of Hip-Hop acts that include Grammy winner Lupe Fiasco, the front man of Jimmy Kimmel’s late night band Black Thought of The Roots and VH1 Hip-Hop Honoree Big Daddy Kane.

In 2011, BHF broke attendance records with over 20,000 fans attending Performance Day under the Brooklyn Bridge for “Q-Tip & Friends.” Not only would the crowd under the bridge rock to performances by Hip-Hop emcees like Kendrick Lamar, Homeboy Sandman and M.O.P. for the headlining event Q-Tip surprised fans with collaborative performances with Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Black Thought of The Roots, Monie Love and more
